       @dansup But, you don't need a centralized service to seed new Loops servers. This just sounds like Bluesky's starter packs (https://bsky.social/about/blog/06-26-2024-starter-packs), but instead of it being per-user, it's per-instance.You feed your instance a list of post URLs from whatever Fedi instances you want, and that's what the user will see when loading Loops. Don't want to use post URLs? Use account URLs. Simple, easy, without a need for centralization. You could even make these lists shareable using categories to help other instances subscribe to them. Again, all federated.

       @Tutanota Firefox on desktop, Cromite (Chromium-based) on Android, Firefox can't even compete with Chrome on mobile when they lack basic features like bookmark import/export, or heavily-requested features like PWAs.Which sucks ass right now, because Mull (DivestOS' fork of Firefox) has ceased development along with DivestOS itself, and people are supposed to migrate away. Yeah, good luck manually migrating all of your bookmarks, your site data, your passwords, without using Firefox Sync, a miserable, nightmarish service to attempt to self-host.

       @eff @JoshRichman Precisely. ChatGPT is just a tool like no other. It's far more broad than stuff that can be easily regulated, like weapons, especially because ChatGPT is a black box with unpredictable results and exploitable ways to get it to relay harmful information, despite the rather simple barriers OpenAI and the rest of the LLMs' developers added.

As if same-sex, same-gender kisses are heretical and utterly forbidden, it'll turn your kids gay and trans!As if children would even care about this distinction in the first place, without their parents intervening and feeding them religious or bigoted slop through indoctrination.I for one, never had an issue with this, ever since I was young. I managed to stay away from deep religious beliefs despite having an Orthodox upbringing up until I was 12.

       @kde Love to see it. Hopefully by then something like session save & restore is finalized. I have switched to Wayland a few months ago when I switched to KDE Plasma from GNOME and aside from a few minor issues that were caused by me, I did not have any app or game that wouldn't work under Wayland or XWayland.
