@Liberux Congratulations to that milestone, exciting times! Bringing up the #Librem5 prototype boards with @nicolef @eric , @todd et. al. was a lot of fun.

@libreoffice Congratulations. Maybe little known: the German federal government was required to be able to process ODF since 2010 already: https://www.cio.bund.de/SharedDocs/downloads/Webs/CIO/DE/it-rat/beschluesse/beschluss_11_2008_download.pdf?__blob=publicationFile&v=2> Das bedeutet, dass die Bundesverwaltung bis zum 01. Januar 2010 in der Lage sein wird,Dokumente im Format ODF zu empfangen, zu bearbeiten, zu erstellen und zuversenden.

#phosh-osk-stub has an #emoji layout since some time but that takes some tapping and scrolling to find an emoji. So I added emojis to the completion bar which makes them easier to select (and the MR also adds some infra to add more "supplementary" results to completions in the future):#LinuxMobile #gtk

With the alarm clock waking the phone from suspend we still need to make sure the alarm sound is audible. We thus need it to have a volume level separate from e.g. media, notifications, calls, etc. This is possible with #wireplumber's "role based policy". There's a lot of lose ends to fix before this all can land but here's a quick demo in #phosh (the alarm sound your is played via #feedbackd which adds the necessary role):#LinuxMobile

Β·..and here's how the volume controls currently look in mobile settings. We get the list of controls from #wireplumber too and#phosh's volume slider gets the highest priority volume so the top panel's volume slider does "the right thing" by default. (I've linked the related MRs from https://gitlab.gnome.org/guidog/meta-phosh/-/issues/20)

@praveen Glad it works for you too. You can avoid the `setcap` by using `AmbientCapabilities=CAP_WAKE_ALARM` in the systemd unit (will be part of phosh-nightly with #phosh's 0.47 release)

@janvlug @praveen β¦and just to be sure: this isn't in any way limited to the #Librem5, works just as well on other #LinuxMobile devices. Using it on a OnePlus6T on a daily basis.

@linmob @dan @spaceraser @ossobuffo Purism (creator of the #Librem5) is a U.S. company and should have a large interest in having their devices work in north America. The community wiki lists quiet a bunch of U.S. providers as supported: https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/community-wiki/-/wikis/Cellular-Providers

Hopefully a small (optional) popup indicating the just typed character in #phosh-osk-stub will help me reduce typos even more.Wanted to add this since ages but I deemed my GTK foo not good enough to have the popover ignore any input and be always properly placed but seems it worked out.Video is a 2οΈβ£ times speed.

#phosh-osk-stub is now #stevia πΉ . The rename wants to reflect that- it's not just a stub- typing should hopefully be "sweet"(and it allows us to keep the "pos_" symbol prefix).https://gitlab.gnome.org/guidog/steviaThanks to @newbyte for the help in finding the name!

In order for distros to be able to prepare for the rename I've tagged a 0.48~alpha1 of stevia: https://sources.phosh.mobi/releases/phosh-osk-stevia/@newbyte#phosh #osk #LinuxMobile

Another #Cellbroadcast bit coming to #phosh / #LinuxMobile. The results of the users choice are set in the modem via a small daemon based on information we're getting from mobile-broadband-provider-info. That way only the tiny UI bit is DE specific, the other bits can be reused on other platforms as is. @devrtz is working on adding persistent storage to keep a message history. Thanks to @NGIZero for supporting this and @snwh for the UI design.

@devrtz @NGIZero @snwh #Debian's experimental distribution now has #ModemManager / #libqmi snapshots to test this more easily. These versions also include support for qmi based modems as found in the #OP6, #Pixel3a and similar devicesUpstream snapshots announced here: https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/modemmanager-devel/2025-June/010050.html#phosh #LinuxMobile

@schmiddionmobile Sorry for the stupid questions but are there any hints on how to best do this without any Anroid device? I created the initial account using `signal-cli`.

Catching a real world and *unexpected* #Cellbroadcast message revealed some minor bugs in #phosh and its mobile settings but those were easy to spotted and fixes will land for 0.49. Overall #ModemManager, #cbd, and #phosh picked the message up as expected (and the channel setting worked as well):/cc @devrtz @NGIZero

Just for completeness: this was also the first time I received a real world (thus not self generated) message on a OnePlus6 so the #Qualcomm parts of #ModemManager work too in that area π
