Y'all, yesterday I went for a follow up with my top surgeon. Everything looks great, "If you're not already doing everything, do everything".I've officially "graduated" and can they use my photos to show folks that are trying to pick a surgeon what their work looks like? (I said yes, being able to see past work of his made a big difference when it came to choosing someone for me)I'm super happy that everything has gone so well. I'm also being hit with a lot of feels today as I realized that... My "transition" is "done". Every document that I wanted changed (and have the ability to change) has been changed, socially and legally I'm a man, and hormones and top surgery is all I wanted when it comes to medical steps. Life continues and changes continue forever, because that's life. But I think this is as official an ending to this chapter of my life as I'm gonna get. I'm still unraveling the actual feelings I'm having, and maybe that will be a blog post later, but I will say that they're *complicated*. There's a definite sadness in there and I'm not sure exactly where it's coming from. That thought just highlights to me that my personal website doesn't feel queer enough, tbh. Makes me want to shout louder, particularly in the current political climate. So yeah, wanted to say something to mark the day. Thank you all for coming along with me on the ride. Thank you to @s0 for hosting an online space that's safe for folks to share this kind of journey on. I'm sure I *could* have where I was previously on fedi, but having a fresh start here was really good for me. And now.. Tried to remove the battery from an old ipod nano that we had gotten Rockbox onto, but no longer held charge. ifixit level: "Very Difficult" but it's a dead device, or a more dead device, a no lose situation.I can't actually do the full replacement right now (have not unpacked and set up a soldering station), but we're concerned that the battery may have become a spicy pillow, so doing the removal part of the process was in order. Step one: Remove top bezel Step two: realize you've now cracked the screen. ...oh well. 🙃

I haven't really been on one in years. (Did get on one briefly when they were unpacked the other day though. Also attempted to climb up on the giraffe uni that day, that was an adventure!) A lot of what I'm doing is still getting myself up to speed, recovering from overusing a shoulder while in recovery from surgery. And I successfully did almost everything on my list today :) I didn't end up juggling plungers, but I really enjoyed passing with @RussSharek. We threw a lot of garbage, and caught a lot of it too! I got some of the supporting muscles for external shoulder rotation really worked. They've clearly what hasn't yet come back. I'll have to be gentle with them, but I'm excited to be getting them working without further injury. I also had a blast being back up on stilts. I only played around for about 15 minutes or so as a warm up, but it's fun to be tall. I played with some isolations, but didn't push myself hard, just enjoyed dancing and walking around. Got me warm and ready to do the more stretch-centric parts of my workout though, which in this weather and a big room heated purely by radiators, was a big win. The rest of it went about as expected, and I'm pretty happy with it. #LiamsFitnessLog #exercise #workout #stiltWalking #juggling

A little #thisOldClownHouse update:Yesterday was doing fiddly cutting of baseboards (skirting boards for my UK folks). In fact, I've been working on that (and door trim) between things for most of the month. Today was finally saying "Enough is enough" with how cold the rooms are upstairs, and at least *starting* to put some insulation in the attic. We've been putting it on hold till the electrical work is all done, but as the electrical to the bedrooms is done, we can go ahead and put in insulation above the rooms at least. So I measured how much depth we have to work with between the boards, and have gone out and bought as much mineral wool as will fit in the car. I suppose tomorrow I'll have a go at installing the stuff!

Made a garbage shell script to do a math. The math helps me curate an environment when I'm doing a ROMP. I love how I use computers. It's silly, it's simple, and I understand what I'm doing (more or less)Are there "better" ways to do what I did? I'm sure there are, I'm aware of at least some of the drawbacks of using what I used, how I used it. But it works for me, and that's what's important. :)

@reb @betkabot Oh, definitely. There was much frustration in the figuring this out. And I would have given up on it if it weren't for @RussSharek continuing to poke at things well past what I was willing to do.
