The trick with learning how to program isn't learning specific languages, or solutions to common problems, or quirks of the computer. The trick is learning HOW TO LEARN in itself.Every language is fundamentally the same, so even though you CAN learn them all, what's more important is to learn HOW to learn them.Meanwhile, there are an infinite number of unique problems, so it is impossible to teach the solution to every one of them.The key goal of learning how to program is learning how to solve things from scratch, regardless of language, problem, or the way they have to be approached.

So, it's 2023, and I'm still seeing a lot of #ContentCreators, esp. #artists, whose only major presence is still #Twitter, and I'm just wondering... why?Twitter is a corporation that has never really cared about the good of the user, or society, before or after #ElonMusk, and will not return your loyalty in the future. You have no reason to sacrifice for it.How do you plan to compensate as legitimate fans lose interest in the platform and are replaced by the trolls it encourages?What will you do when the lack of IT staff causes Twitter to experiences outages and data loss?Where will you be if Elon decides hosting your content is costly and demands money to host it, or outright deletes it?By crossposting to other platforms (not limited to Mastodon), you at least have the ability to build reach and followers. So I am legitimately asking...Why are you not diversifying?

@dansup @dumpsterqueer As someone who says "y'all", it seems like such an organic part of the English language, it's very strange to hear someone say it can even be "Cultural Appropriation". Sure, we use it more in the southern US, but it's language, a contraction of "You All", not like, a big Texas buckle, boots, and stetson. Even then, if someone wore those, I'd consider it a homage to how silly us Texans are until they made some rude joke with it.

I want to note something about public #blocklists like the above one...While it's possible for a user to import a public #blocklist CSV like this one, if you find yourself needing to do that for a large number of instances, perhaps you should contact your admin about importing a list like this.If they don't want to block instances for you, you should consider moving your account to a different server, which you can do by entering your account handles in the settings page on both servers to link them and transfer the followers / follows.One of the big benefits of the #Fediverse, as a network, is the ability to choose who runs your server, and not have to start over if you change your mind, because there are numerous servers which are all connected.If you don't like your #moderation team, you don't have to keep it!#FediTip #FediTips #Moderation

Mastodon.Social being so much of the network is a major concern for avoiding the problems that Centralization brings, but we're still light-years ahead of closed networks like Twitter and Bluesky.TechHub, as usual, is always ready to take on new signups, to try and build the userbase outside of the largest instance.
