@fosdem @RichiH I want to bring or fund at least 10 of these devices to the upcoming #FOSDEM. Seemingly genuine sensors can be had for ~17 (not 70+) EUR per sensor on AliExpress.https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005699154834.htmlWould FOSDEM infra team allow plugging them into USB port of the video boxes if I solder and bring them, or would you rather manufacture them by an internal team (for trust reasons)?Hoping for your quick reply.

@autkin @fosdem plugging into our infrastructure is a no go. We can't test this beforehand, and losing recordings is too big of a risk.I believe some people are crowd sourcing data already

@RichiH @fosdem ok so PCB making with sensors sourcing and assembly comes to 33 EUR per unit (if I do a big order). Sourcing USB power from mains socket is more expensive than I expected, so I am calling for devroom and stand owners to adopt a sensor, i.e. to look after it and make sure it's fed organic local-grown electricity (USB-C 5v, no PD should be needed).#FOSDEM

@RichiH @fosdem my letters to misc #FOSDEM maillists seem to have been held - I guess moderation or bugs. Zero responses in any case, which is unfortunate. I take it as a sign to make the smallest possible batch, 10 units. I just want to minimize the hole in my pocket in absence of any expression of interest from others.Order made. Devices should be in my hands towards the last week before FOSDEM. I will set up monitoring and contact schedule app devs to try integrate this feature.

10 CO2 monitor units have found homes for _after_ FOSDEM. If you want one for your home, make it known ASAP as that strongly affects the amount of devices to be manufactured.

Does #Belgium really has regulations which use threshold CO2 concentration levels of 900 ppm (below considered good) and 1200 ppm (above considered poor)? I am thinking of putting these levels as green-amber-red thresholds in the monitor devices, because as is they have levels harder to reach (they are oriented at larger conference stages) so it sometimes goes red in my spacious room where I'm alone, which would be just pointless.Does anyone have their CO2 measurements from previous #FOSDEM ?

The first batch of CO2 monitors is on the way to my local makerspace, should come by Jan 20. The plan is to immediately test it and order the second batch, to be delivered to a collaborator in Brussels.
