#Degoogled Maps? Yes, it's possible. đđșïžThe Big Tech does not need to track your every step đuse a Google Maps alternative instead.Find out which open source maps we'd recommend: https://tuta.com/blog/google-maps-alternatives-foss #GoogleMapsÂ

@Tutanota As someone who values a maps + navigation service that also works on desktop (seriously, "mobile only" is the worst), and lets you sync places and collections, I can very much recommend https://wego.here.comI'm happy to receive recommendations that are based on OpenStreetmap and offer the same, but so far I've been unlucky.

@Tutanota or, in this case, any other type of navigation, which probably is 100 times better than GM (for example TomTom)

@Tutanota You donât talk about #CoMaps, which is on your picture đ€Itâs a fork of Organic Maps, but work better. And with AppleCar and AndroidAuto.

@dm29 Thanks for sharing, but it's not open source. In this guide we wanted to focus specifically on open software.

@Tutanota @YanouRed at least in the Spanish translation, instead of CoMaps the article says "Locus Maps"

@Tutanota Have you tried these yourselves and know that they work reliably? I have tried Organic Maps and OsmAnd with Google Auto in my car. Organic Maps crashed a lot, so unusable for me. OsmAnd gave some suggestions for routing that were very suboptimal and confusing. I haven't tried your third option.

@Tutanota an advantage to me is that I can tell Osmand+ that my Mercedes van cannot go faster than 85 kph :)

@Tutanota I like OrgnanicMaps/CoMaps for offline use on mobile. But I would add @cartes_app : it is open source, based on OpenStreetMap data with public transport and @panoramax integrations. It is focused on France for the added data, but could be enhanced or replicated for other local uses. It is my go-to app on Desktop now.

@Tutanota It's not open source, but it is based on Open Street Maps (outside of Czech Republic, where the coverage is more extensive)@txtx

@Tutanota plasticized paper maps, street/road signs, and your actual memory. After possibly using any online search system for "step by step" and writing or printing that out, is better than anything on a mobile electronic device.

@Tutanota are you really sure about french translation? At the end of article:"Reprenez votre vie privĂ©e avec dâautres solutions Google"(translation of: "Take back your privacy with more Google alternatives")Which means in french: "Take back your privacy with other Google solutions".I would suggest "Reprenez votre vie privĂ©e avec d'autres solutions" or "Reprenez votre vie privĂ©e avec plus d'alternatives Ă Google" ou mĂȘme "Reprenez votre vie privĂ©e avec d'autres solutions que Google" ^^
