@vernissage How do #vernissage and #pixelfed relate to each other? Is Vernissage „just“ a Pixelfed client? I suppose not because there is a server component https://github.com/VernissageApp/VernissageServer But Impressia the iOS client for Vernissage mentions Pixelfed https://apps.apple.com/de/app/impressia-for-pixelfed/id1663543216 So there must be some relationship.cc @PixelFed

@bitbonk Impressia is an iOS client for Pixelfed. Vernissage is a separate platform, like Pixelfed or Mastodon, communicating with others via ActivityPub.

@vernissage What would you say are the key differentiating properties of Vernissage compared to Pixelfed?

@bitbonk I may be a bit biased (as the author of one of them). The most noticeable differences are:- #Vernissage focuses more on professional photography and photo presentation (like Instagram vs 500px or Glass).- It supports EXIF metadata (including GPS location).- Additionally: HDR support and account verification (similar to Mastodon). There are likely many other differences as well (not just in the software). But that’s no longer for me to judge.https://joinvernissage.org/

@bitbonk It’s not available yet. It’s on the roadmap, but unfortunately it’s hard to say when I’ll start working on it.
