       @The4thCircle *sigh, that sounds really sad. Creating art and being an artist should be possible for others, too.They should at least support their artists, not born into a wealthy family, with lower health insurance costs.

       @lopeztel Yes. :) Brave to give it a try at least. It is a good sign they tested the basic income with 2000 artists and now 4000 will benefit from it. Hopefully it won't be abused like many generous projects. There is always some risk for more good in the world.

       @sylvia_ritter good on Ireland.  Hopefully this shames the rest of the EU into doing something meaningful for the arts (and later, everyone).I say this as a functionally impoverished author living in the states whose mental health has not survived full-time work in the tech industry.

       @sylvia_ritter I wish every Country would do this. I always wanted to visit Irland because its have so much beautiful nature now I wish I would life there but I couldn't afford it. Living cost more in Ireland then in spain and I struggle already here :blobfoxlaughsweat:

       @fennek *hug Yes, I can understand that very well. It is the same here in Germany. Stopped saying out loud to my husband at the supermarket checkout, "That was really expensive". The cashier must have already heard that comment way too often. Ireland, Denmark, and Luxembourg have the highest living expenses, so it seems right to start there. Hopefully, there will be a basic income in Spain (and everywhere else) very soon, too.

       @sylvia_ritter yes I was in Germany before and my Partner is from luxembourg and yes it is expensive and Germany is still more expensive then spain. Its hard how expensive living is :blobfoxlaughsweat:

       @itspomf Indeed. Many countries don't even support artists by lowering their health insurance costs (like here in Germany). That would be a great start.Following the US news every day, I can only hope for an immediate change. Sending a big hug!
