We delivered on generational graphics upgradeability in a laptop. The new Framework Laptop 16 with #AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors, #NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics, and 240W USB-C power adapter is now live and available for pre-order at https://frame.work/laptop16!

@frameworkcomputer I don’t own one, but I’m glad you exist as a business and doing great stuff hereI am probably buying the desktop when I ditch windows though. I love good tiny form factors with power. And steamOS is going right on it

@frameworkcomputer I agree with @dodgycoffee. I really appreciate the whole concept of upgradeability, and I am always happy to see good #Linux hardware out there. Just not a fan of #NVIDIA and its reluctance to 'play nice' with #Linux. For me, it's #AMD all the way

@pr_ret_lutz j'ai un framework 13 depuis peu et j'en suis très satisfait. Je me demande si ce sera mon dernier laptop comme je l'espère. Je crois que c'est possible🙂

@frameworkcomputer I like the concept, but it's sooo expensive. Really, price of a small car for a laptop, all that because it's vaguely screwed ? Do an effort to get the price down.

Fascinating concept.Have you considered producing keyboard modules with trackpoint? While I hope that my current Thinkpad to last a while, I could imagine that offering a trackpoint variant might make quite a few Thinkpad fans reconsider their choice: I see quite some overlap between your approach and the original Thinkpads, but at least for me a trackpoint is essential. That's why I am still with Lenovo despite decreasing quality. @frameworkcomputer

@frameworkcomputer I really wanted to buy a frameworks laptop, but now I have reservations knowing my money helps support projects of people that are well known to use their platform to advocate for hurting anyone who isn't cis gendered and white.....Please do better to vet the people and projects you choose to support, and promote. If it's all about "how good the work is" then it's telling that wanting to do/be better is none of your concern, and also maybe questionable as to what your team of people actually may look like.Does your staff of colour, or the trans people that work for you know who these people are? Would they feel comfortable with this person in the room with them? Let these questions guide you.

@frameworkcomputer I'm starting to think the swappable USB ports take up too much space. I think it might be better to just add a bunch of USB daughter boards for USB only ports like Apple, then design the board to be more compact from all the space saved. You would then be able to have a bigger battery. What would be cool is to have a board design that may have worked in a Framework 13 and 16. This way, it wouldn't feel like the 16 would be as neglected.
