We will extend the long press on hashtags to three options (currently, the only option is to mute them).Options will be :- Mute- Pin- FollowDo you think a confirmation is also needed ? Thank you for your feedback.

@appsMaybe a popup with a description, what was done and how to undo it. Maybe even with an undo link/button?Example: "#catsOfMastodon muted. You will not see posts with this hashtags in your home feed anymore. Check the xyz view to see and edit your muted tags."

@appsI like to have a all the options for a hashtag in a single menu. We have a lot of different workflows to handle hashtags (and yes the existing ways are still valid). But a long press on a hashtag to reach all the options would be really nice.Anyway, at least a confirmation for mute would be good. But it makes more sense to have it for all options. (on the other hand some confirmations drives me crazy, for instance the language change confirmation for posts, because the lang-tag is already visible before I send)

@apps I voted yes, but now that I think about it more I'm already getting a dialog, it's not just adding it. Maybe an undo button that pops up for a few seconds.

@beandevWe have no doubts about these options when long pressing a tag and also thank you for your suggestion :)In the last version, the app should no longer ask a confirmation for languages if you reduced the list in Settings>Compose>language picker

@apps As in, like, a bottom sheet/modal pops up with each option on how to handle it, or you apply the option as an app setting and then long pressing just automatically does it? Because if it's the former I don't think a confirmation is required, but if it's the latter then yeah I'd have a confirmation. Alternatively, a toast notification with an undo button could work since it'd be less intrusive than a full on confirmation dialogue, and that could even be nice to have for the bottom sheet/modal approach if the user misclicks.

@appsVoted "no" because I first imagined the confirmation as a second popup after the first one and it sounds a bit heavy to me, but if you do it differently with a smoother UI then a confirmation is probably better.

@apps My general rule is that anything which is easy to undo and is not visible to others does not need a confirmation. So by that reasoning, all of these options don't need a confirmation, but for example, following or unfollowing an account should have a confirmation.

@appsAssuming the long press is bringing up a menu to select one of the options, then no. If you are talking about just picking a default option in settings, then yes. I have already accidentally triggered the mute and didn't realize it.

@apps If you have to select then I don't think confirmation is needed if there are ok/cancel buttons to submit, which would be better than immediately closing on selection anyway.
