       Fellow #Fosstodon people, where did you migrate to?It's quite sad to lose the history of content in the process, but I'd like to at least be sure that our new home will stay online for the years to come, and for it to be a relatively "mainstream" safe space for FOSS people.

       @tuxdevices Both hachyderm.io and floss.social are good options for you, but Fosstodon has been around longer that either. Further, @Gina has pledged to honor the deal Kev and I first made with the community where we would give six months notice prior to shutting the instance down if it came to that.        @linmob wouldn't you miss the local timeline? (I don't know cause I don't use since I'm on social and I've procrastinated to migrate) one of the reasons I might go to a smaller instances instead of self-hosting @tuxdevices

       @tuxdevices I suggest to wait for a official statement from @Gina/the mods before thinking about moving.What I can say is that these considering defederation are doing so based on misinformation and we all try to clear this up.

       @qkalligula I don't know friendica too well, IIRC it was more of a facebook style thing (written in PHP), while gotosocial is a tiny mastodon replacement implemented in Go. It requires less than a GB of RAM and keeps disk-use in check, so that it can be simply run on a SBC or a small VPS. @tuxdevices
