       Good morning Fedi friends! The day starts on a bright note, seeing the results of the Canadian elections 🇨🇦Yesterday was the 1st day of pre-production for the Fediverse promo video. FASCINATING discussions with my interns. I understood so many things about the Fediverse from the POV of people not familiar with it. The concept of servers / instances and software can be confusing. I finally got a breakthrough thanks to FediDB.Today we’re reworking the script. Have a great day everyone!

       @alex @_elena the metaphor is excellent, but it works only for an older generation that actually used emails extensively.  The newer generation mostly knows of very immediately available services, with apps where you just enter username and password and things work. That's not bad at all, but it's like voluntarily putting handcuffs and giving the keys to a stranger...

       @_elena can't wait for a good, clear and engaging video to explain how the fediverse works. I keep promoting it to my friends, trying to explain as best I can, but a good video would for sure help.

       @_elena I’m one of the few here who have no technical expertise, so when I try to explain it to other people like me I have been comparing the fedi servers to email servers. People are familiar with how Gmail can talk to other email servers. I hope that’s not too far from how it actually works 😅

       @_elena The instance thing is indeed confusing at first.When promoting the Fediverse, instead of explaining how and where to find an instance and so on, why not just list three instances to chose from.And a kind of statement like :« If you don't know where to start, just take a look at these three instances. Just pick one, they can interact with each other anyways."
