ART BLOSSOMS FROM TECHNOLOGY:
THE ART AND TECHNOLOGY SOCIETY
MEETS AT THE EIGHTH ANNUAL DIGITAL
BE-IN IN SAN FRANCISCO

The Art and Technology Society is planning their first annual worldwide
conclave at the Digital Be-In on January 11 in San Francisco. They will
present a continuous multimedia work representing the diverse artistic
explorations of Society members. Scheduled for 7 p.m.-2 a.m. at the Maritime
Hall, 450 Harrison Street in San Francisco, the Digital Be-In will meld the
technology of the 1990s with the evolutionary spirit of the 1960s. The Digital
Be-In is open to the public, with tickets $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
Tickets are available at all Bay Area BASS ticket outlets, 510-762-BASS, at
the Verbum Booth at MacWorld Expo, or by calling 415-777-9901.

The Art and Technology Society is dedicated to exploring and acting on
the synergy of art and technology.

"Just like we're forming a worldwide culture," remarked Art and
Technology Society founder Robert Mykland, "the members of the Society
are done with the arbitrary boundary lines between art and technology,
between useful and beautiful, between esthetics and the physical
universe. Nothing made or perceived by humans is accidental. As a
world culture we are beginning to realize that we are actually at the
controls of the things that seem to drive us, like future shock, for
example. If we as a planet can undertake the awesome responsibility and
opportunity this new paradigm allows, we can look forward to a world we
all love to live in. The Art and Technology Society is exploring and
leading the way into these vast uncharted creative waters."
