I have no idea if this list is completely dead or if I'm having trouble
receiving anything from it; I've been subscribed for a few days now, and
haven't seen anything since the subscription confirmation. Usually, when I
subscribe to a list, I start getting mailbox spam immediately.
I've only recently discovered that there's such a thing as vrml in the
works, and already my mind is swimming with the possibilities. For the
past couple of years I've been heavily involved in the development of
"textual virtual realities," particularly MOOs, and I'm interested in the
potential for using vrml as a basis for similar interactive experiences. I
have no idea what sort of allowances the developers plan on making for
real-time interaction between users, but it seems to me that it would be
possible to create a cross between MUD and vrml, so that users could meet
and interact in an immersive vr environment in real time.
I apologize if this is old territory; as I said, I've only recently
discovered the idea and am still reeling. :)
