Greetings all,
I hate to put a damper on all this free thought, but can we get back to
VR-art.

Beg pardon, but what do you think all these posts about Surrealism are
directed at? They are directed at the concept of non-linear
narrative, which is tremendously important to developing VR worlds.

I think we should create an artform that is all our own, whether that
form has aspects of surrealism, cubism, or any other isms is purely up to the
creator of the art piece.

All art movements build from something. To take ideas from
pre-existing art movements is not invalid. It is intelligent.

I like Escher, and I'll continue to be influenced
by his work. I am not as familiar with Dali, but I have explored the internet
sites about his work and I don't think I like it as much.

Please don't confuse your personal tastes with meaningful contribution
to the subject of VR art. One man's art garbage is another man's art
treasure.

We could split up
and have a couple of group working on different sections of a 'peice'.

In practice, we are already doing that. Unless you are suggesting
splitting the list itself into "vworlds-dali" and "vworlds-escher." I
would find such a suggestion to be highly inappropriate at this
juncture in time. You are always free to skip over the Surrealist
posts if they do not stimulate your own personal thinking on VR art.
Personally, I'm very interested and still waiting to hear what the
Escherists have to say about sustaining perspective illusions in
projected 3d space.

Cheers,
Brandon
