Library or not, *do* go to the WebLouvre. I had no idea they had so much
good stuff. I spent yesterday afternoon there checking out Dali and Escher
and it was a terrific refresher.

I think the point about "autosodomization" et al. was that you couldn't
write a "Dali" filter for a paint program like you could with
Impressionism, Pontillism, or even possibly Cubism. The issue with Dali
isn't so much style of representation as content (as Brandon said).

Actually Magritte (another surrealist) did some Impressionist-styled
surrealist paintings, and I think they fail miserably. The "accuracy"
of rendering is necessary to get the viewer to focus on content.
