i bought a copy of the sttng 'enterprise tech manual' on cdrom a couple of
months ago. IMHO, it was a real dissapointment (on netdog's homepage, he
would call such a thing a total trainwreck). you wander around the
enterprise using quicktime movies to shuttle you through generic hallways,
onto and off of the elevator, and through more generic hallways to your
destination (bridge, cap's qtrs., engineering, etc.). in these specific
destinations, you can look around within a quicktime vr environment. the
only problem? your feet are nailed to the floor when in vr mode. you can
look up and down and spin around, but you are within a sphere. the real
exploration across the room ain't there. oh well. of course, ymmv.
