No.
The point that the vr-art guy is trying to make, is that his
objectives for the list are DIFFERENT than those of vworlds-list. He
wants vr-art to concentrate on the pragmatic, actually build stuff,
help artists with technical problems, etc. vr-art wants to proceed
from PRACTICE.
vworlds-list wants to talk about VR in Fantasy-land, free of technical
constraints. We proceed from THEORY. As far as wanting mailing lists
is concerned, neither approach is inherently "better" than the other.
Both are capabe of producing stimulating ideas and implementation
methods. Both are capable of being dead boring and useless.
Let them have their room to breathe. We don't have any problem
telling people that we're not a technical discussion group. We
shouldn't have any problem with people wanting a list that's similar
to ours, but that has a different methodological focus.
If you need some kind of integration, just subscribe to both lists.
Just remember which hat to wear when you (R)eply. :-)
Cheers,
Brandon
