Curl Up 'n' Dye

Curl Up and Dye has been around for quite a long time. When I was in high school, it was the place all the Chicago Punks got their wierdest creations done. It was totally run down and pretty wacky. I never went there, I just relied on my friends for my strange haircuts. I always wanted to though. And I finally did. It had completely changed since I left Chicago in '88. It's now a super yuppie hair "salon." The people that worked there were pretty cool looking. And they took me without an appointment, but I paid probably three times what I would have in the old days.

Someone told me that the place where Carrie Fisher worked in The Blues Brothers was called Curl Up And Dye. I watched the movie again recently and the name of her salon was Curl Up and Dye and it was in Chicago, but it was in the wrong part of town. It looked like it was on the West side and the real Curl Up and Dye is on the north side.
