                                 EDITORIAL
     =================================================================

     Greetings,

Thanks for the details about the new Z1C. David Moufarrege is the
     lucky one. ;-)

I see, your (Z2 beings) beloved Z2C still has'nt lost his sarcastic
bulls...! And when is he due to retire? Has been there for donkey
years. He must be getting a grey beard by now. :-)
Nice to be able to pull a leg or two, or whatever.

It's almost a year, that I took the 'job' of Editor. Yes, a year has
passed and what fun it has been and when one has fun, time flies. ;-)
Could I do it for another year? Funny you should ask, I doubt it.
But will see what time brings.

     Happy reading.

     [Cced to Z2C.]

What happened to the z2.fidonet.org name servers?

The primary name server for the DNS zone z2.fidonet.org has been down
since an unspecified number of days (I noticed that only a few days
ago). The secondary name server does not reply to queries about the
     zone.

What does that mean? It mean that no netmail from or to Z2 can be
gated and that messages already sent are bouncing after the five days
     timeout.

Why there aren't more name servers for such a critical task?
Why the z2.fidonet.org hostmaster has not updated R33 MX records
when asked by the R33C many months ago and reminded many times since?
Is this person accountable to fidonet coordinators?
Why the Z2C did not reply to me when some days ago I offered two name
     servers for the zone?

I write to fidonews in the hope someone who cares will show up.

     Marco d'Itri <md@linux.it>, 2:331/51.

Is the Z2C not entitled to a few days time-off or do I need your
permission to go on holiday ... for not more than 3,5 days ... !

In August I'd like to be gone for 7 whole days ... is that OK?

FWIW, the keeper of z2.fidonet.org also was on holiday until today,
I've gotten in touch with him for a sollution.

You know something? I don't like it when people get on my back like
that in an accusing tone ... I work my arse off day-in and day-out to
keep this baby going, that should be enough in a hobby environment.
If more is expected then I will require someone to pay me a salary.

     >I write to fidonews in the hope someone who cares will show up.

What's that good for? Blasting around something has never provided a
sollution, it only creates the opportunity for the Moravsik-alikes to
     have silly and useless debates.

and generally reflect Zone and Regional Web Page sites. If
no Regional site is submitted, the first Network page from
that Region is used in its place. Generally, Regional pages
should list access points to all Networks within the Region.

TCP/IP accessible node access information should be submitted
to the FidoNews Editor for inclusion in their Region or Zone.
