Re: Re: Update on the home-built z80 computer[1] > Would love to see pictures, plans, and budget. I'll put some pictures online as soon as I start the build. Right now, I'm pulling a few more pieces together. Check out my z80build/ projects folder[2] for a detailed Bill of Materials text file as well as a link to the schematics that I'm going to be using. The biggest issue I have with budget is that it's almost impossible, it seems, to obtain qty 1 of any of the things that I need. Impossible, or impractical with the cost of shipping. So, I'm ending up with duplicates (or more) of the parts. If someone else wants to attempt the build, I could send them my extras so they wouldn't have to source them all the way I did. The biggest part of the budget was the eeprom programmer, which was just under $50. But, it is of course useful for other things, so I wouldn't include it in the cost of the build. The other parts are relatively cheap, but I did drop $20 on a breadboard CF slot so I could avoid the tiny soldering and signal problems described in the build instructions.
