                                LaFTP

LaFTP is a program to make it easier to call systems using the FTP
capibilities of your Wildcat board. The program has a very detailed
database of sites that you can visit and download files. It is as simple
as adding the site to your personal menu and pressing enter while the
cursor is on that board. Each user can have their own personal menu, and
the program keeps track of what files are downloaded from each system.
You can then check up on what your users are downloading.

Installation is easy. Create a folder anywhere, it can be on any drive
and unzip all the files into it. Copy the WCX file over to your Wildcat
folder, go into WCMENU and instead of pointing at FTP CLIENT, point at
LaFTP instead. Include the location of LaFTP (complete path) in the
parameter section of WcMenu. Then just enter the program while logged on
locally. The rest of the files will be created automatically.

NOTE: If your access level is NOT sysop, you will manually have to
change the sysop.dat file to include your access level or your name.
Default is SYSOP. Case of word is unimportant.

                                Using the program

Using the program is simple. When the user enters the program they are
presented with a menu. They can browse, search or enter their personal
menu or get online help . If they pick personal menu, it will be empty
until they add entries. There are three ways to add entries. The first
is to browse the database. Using the + and - keys, they can browse
through the database and by pressing the A key, they add that entry to
their own personal menu. They may also search through the database. By
selecting this item from the menu, they will be asked for a phrase to
search for. The program will start at the first entry and search for
matches. If it finds one, the whole record will be displayed with a
chance to add this entry to thier personal menu. They will then be asked
if they want to continue searching. The third way to enter a site is to
go to their personal menu and press the space bar. They can then enter
an address manually and the program will attempt to go to that site. If
they successfull go to the site, when they log off that site, they will
be prompted to add a description of the site and this site will be
automatically added to their personal menu.

Deleting a users personal menu is as simple as deleting their folder
from the LaFTP folder. Nothing further is needed.
