Trading VIA a Front Door Program

It is possible to trade viruses without ever logging onto my BBS.

You ask, "Why would I want to do that?"
You ask, "What if I am local caller, what good does it do me?"

The answers are simple, once the initial ground work is done, you spend less
time online screwing around. Less time online equates to less money spent on
the phone bill. Due to some quirk of nature my BBS software errors out during
uploads at speeds greater than 19200. The front end mailler has no problems
upto and possibly beyond 28800. (This is what can happen when you use a dos
BBS in an OS/2 environment)

How do I do I set this up?

The easiest way for you to do this (if you aren't familiar with front end
mailers) is to use InterMail for you frontend program. Why InterMail? Simple,
it's what I use and therefor I am familiar with how to set it up. Not to
mention, I know for sure that you can add node numbers via the Node Compiler
that comes with InterMail without having an acutual nodelist.

1st I will cover this for those that are familiar with front end programs.
        1. Send me a message with a file attatch that has the application,
sample viruses and the master list.
        2. In the message I will need to know what node number you will
be using and what your preferance will be for a session password.
        3. Upon recieving and evaluating the application I will place a
message on hold with the front end program. This message will
have your session password and if requested your BBS password.
        4. Poll this system with your front end program and the mail on hold
will be released to you. Once you have done this I will turn on
the session password and allow you FREQ the viruses from me.

Now, for those of you who have never seen a front end program I will give you
a brief rundown. You can log onto my system under the following account:
                Name: GUEST Password: GUEST

Got to the file area with the T
Next use the F to do a search for INTERMAIL
Once you have found the file and downloaded it and follow the instructions
found inside the file for the setup. InterMail is very easy to get setup and
running, you will find that it even has a decent terminal program built in.
After you have the program installed and running use ALT-N and you will arrive
at the nodelist screen. Hit F-6 and then F-5 and you will be presented with a
screen to add a node.

The information to use is as follows

Node Number: 211:211/16969 <--Yes this is a fake node number but it
                                        is convinient for me.
        Phone Number: 1-210-657-0935

        Flags: CM, V34, XA, V32B, V42B

        Sysop: Armand

Max Baud 9600 <-- It doesn't go any higher

        Group: 1

Exit the INTERMAIL and then use the program IMSEND wich should have come with
the INTERMAIL. The command line should be as follows:

        IMSEND f virapp.zip 211:211/16969
                 ^^^^^^
whatever name you decide, just use something unique.

Next run the program IE, wich is the message editor for your front end program.
Edit the Text of the message with the appropriate data. See the previous
section for what should be in this message.
