Introduction
PDMail is a simple program to export SLBBS mail messages addressed
to an Internet user. It exports the message to a FIDO *.MSG format message
addressed to a UUCP gate.

Setup
First, add the name PDMAIL as a member of the MAIL subboard. PDMAIL
does not need to be in the user file and of course, you can not have a user
with the name or alias PDMAIL. Second, you will need to obtain the address
of a UUCP gate site that will gate your mail messages. I use 1:1/31, but
there may be one closer that you may wish to use. I suggest you contact the
sysop of the gate site to verify that you may send messages through it.
Third, you will need to edit the file PDMAIL.CFG to your specifications.
Instructions are included in the sample PDMAIL.CFG file that was included in
this archive.

Execution
To export messages, just run PDMAIL.EXE from the same directory where
PDMAIL.CFG is found. PDMail uses the environment variable SLBBS to find the
SLBBS config files. PDMail will search through the MAIL subboard (starting
at it's high message pointer) looking for messages addressed to an Internet
user. It will then export the message to the directory specified and address
it to the gate site as specified. PDMail will then delete the messages from
the MAIL subboard and update its high message pointer.
PDMail can be run with the parameter DEBUG for testing purposes. If
this is done, the PDMail will not delete the messages from the MAIL subboard
and it will not update its high message pointer. It will still export the
messages, so use it with care. Since running in DEBUG mode does not update
PDMail's high message pointer, it is possible to export the same message
several times.

Guarantee
There is none. I do not have any idea what PDMail will do when run
on you system, but I hope it runs correctly. I tested it with several
SLBBS v4-x beta versions. I also tested PDMail with Front Door v2.02, but it
should work with any mailer that uses FIDO *.MSG messages for NetMail.

Registration
This program is freeware and may be distributed freely. Use it and
have fun.

Feedback
I appreciate any feedback concerning the use of PDMail. I can be
contacted through mail on The Searchlight BBS, or through NetMail to 1:123/60
or 250:312/1561, or through mail on my BBS, The Searchlight Cafe at
(901)324-2105. I can also be contacted in the SL_SYSOP, SL_SLBBS, SL_DOOR,
or SL_PRGM echos.
