By popular demand!!! OK. So ONE person doesn't make it popular. Sue me.

One of the reasons that I run Renegade is the fact that it is so
customizable even without digging out the ol' Hex Editor. In most cases,
when you see something you like from another software package, it is
probably possible to mimic in Renegade.

One of these features is WildCat!'s download function. It's pretty nifty!
A similar effect can be accomplished with Renegade. It's not EXACTLY the
same, but if you want exact then SWITCH TO WILDCAT!!!!

All there is to it is the addition of a menu that is called when you hit "D"
for download (or whatever command you have set up). A little spiffy ANSI,
some animation if you want some neat effects, the proper sequence of
regular Renegade commands and VOILA! An acceptable and interesting solution.

Here are the instructions on how to set it up.

1. Put DOWNLOAD.MNU in your Menu directory.

2. In your file menu, replace your download command with one that calls
DOWNLOAD.MNU. Your command would be -/ (GOSUB) and line 6 (Option)
    would be DOWNLOAD.

3. Put DLBATCH.ANS in your Miscellaneous directory.

All done! Wasn't that EASY? Of course, you'll probably want to modify
the ANSI since it still has the name of my board on it. Feel free to
make changes. If anyone can improve on what I've done, then send it MY
way.

If you have problems setting it up you should do one of three things.

1. Call a friend that runs Renegade.

2. Call a board carrying RGSNet and post a message. You'll get a half
dozen responses from SysOps as knowledgable if not MORE knowledgable
    than I.

3. Call MY board. I'll be glad to help ya out. The number is
    (502) 443-3800.

See ya on the Nets!
