Greets all-

*Usually*, I'm up on this long before said programs reach the general
public, but of late, Ive had a bit of life to deal with, and shit's been
piling up.

This file will amaze you. Its going to be short, and to the point. Setting
up OBV/2 under Windows 95 is a hell of alot easier than one would think.
Forget all the crap you learned (or most of it) about running multinode
under DV or OS/2. You wont have much to play with besides making your board
look cool! (Aint that the shits!, hehehe)
The sweetness here, is because it's so easy, you should be up and running
in about a half hour*...

*(Took me 5 minutes. Results may vary, etc.,etc.)

First, I had a complete running setup under DV before going to Windows 95.
This means, you should have a working setup, Under DV, OS/2, or just Obv/2
and a mailer. If you need help regarding multinode, or setting up a mailer,
I suggest grabbing one of my Nifties, which has all the needed files/programs
(Intermail, DV, GEcho, etc.,) for said setups.

Ready?

Ok- your batchfile used to load your mailer/bbs) should load your Fossil.

Why?

Setting up a fossil straight through your config.sys, will not work on some
systems- Windows 95 seems to pick the stuff it wants, and most often,
fossils arent (heheh). Iv'e included mine (runboard.bat) for reference...

Now, look to your modem setup in Windows 95- Under START-> CONTROL PANEL ->
MODEMS. Make sure the correct port speed is setup there. Especially with
28.8's, Windows seems to like to set the port at 57600 by default. Mine,
is set to 115200 for maximum performance. (This needs to jive with how you
set your fossil up in your batchfile too.)

I keep my batchfile (runboard.bat) in my bbs main directory. Double-click
on your file system icon (by default is "My Computer" - ugh.) and worm
your way to where you have your bbs batchfile at. Drag the filename (ie;,
bbs.bat, runboard.bat, whatever) while holding down the RIGHT mousebutton
to your desktop, and copy the new shortcut there. Change the icon to
whatever ya want, and if you want to have the thing listed under the START
launcher, drag it to the start button and drop there too.

Now. Right-click on the BBS icon, and go to PROPERTIES. (This is where
everyone screws up by thinking they have to change a ton of shit.- You DONT!) Windows knows (huh?) the best route
for memory allocation. All you need change is:

 FONT - Allow both types.

MISC - IDLE SENSITIVITY - set this at its lowest, and adjust if needed.

All of the memory settings should be set to auto. (wow!)

Windows automagically creates/sets this up as a .pif afterwards, so theres
no screwing around here either. Guess what? yer done, besides cosmetic shit
like changing icons, moving it to a group, or including it in a add-on
like Norton Navigator. Setting up a local only node is the same.

You may wish to set the window to full screen, if you get buzz-eyed
like I do trying to read small fonts.

I wish I could have made this out to be a huge file with tons of technical
crap in it, but, as all who know me will attest to, I hate the chumps out
there trying to make this stuff harder than it really is,
and wanted to spare you that aggravation. Try this with OS/2 (hahahah)

 Plug time-

DIRECT support for this, and my Nifty Series, can be found through my own
net - (EViLNet), and Most-of-the-time support through OSN (Oblivion Support
Net) and IMPACTNET.

This is being released under EViL Productions, a new form of group- not
just yer average "mod" group, but a clan of conspirators doing everything
from lit to menusets, mods to music, coding to cracks, informational files
(like this) to VGA. Check us out, if your tired of the same old crap.

- Yer welcome. Darklord Hellspawn (Betcha all didn't know I had a last name!)
