I was told once that enableing the Area Compression in either the File System
configuration, or in the Message System Configuration, that it boggs down the
pc ALOT. This is especially true if you have alot of file/message areas. The
reason is that TG needs to renumber that areas on the fly, using lots of CPU
power. Using the raw area numbers does not cause this problem.

for the message area, starting from the WFC screen:
(S)ystem Config,
(M)essage System,
(T)Area Compression. Make sure it's disabled.

for the file area, starting from the WFC screen:
(S)ystem Config,
(F)ile System,
(X)Area Compression. Make sure it's disabled.

Hope this helps.
