Whatever you decide to offer, specialize in that area. For example, if
callers are looking for message areas, they will look for a BBS that
offers mainly message areas, not games, and chat, and message areas,
and files, and online shopping, and this and that.

Personally, my board (a single-line dial-up) is thriving off of door
games, although when I originally opened the board it was a mix of
games, messages, and files. Since opening, I've narrowed my message
base to three nets (a small sampling of Fido echoes, my network -
Sinnet, and most recently SOFNet) and installed InterBBS games like
BRE, FE, TAL, LORD with LORDNet, and several others.
