can you please post how one is to make a request to the backbone to carry an 
echo? i don't have any messages that i can use as an example as this area has 
flushed down to none in it...

also, what to do if one doesn't have the elist response from the creation of 
the echo? due to the recent moving of machines, some stuff has not made it back 
via normal channels...
