In the US, that I can easily believe and as a programmer I could see how more
efficient you could be programming - or at least making more mistakes :)

I do seem to recall that some companies even did hot desking? in the UK but I
think that they had chairs and no never came across it as about that time I
was a commercial pilot, with only the occasional bout for programming or in
those days Test management when not on schedules.
The change was a nice break.

My back hurts thinking about doing that :(
