I'm not exactly sure what you mean there, but you can use the package manager 
to search for anything you're looking for as well as a complete listing on 
their site, https://www.archlinux.org/packages/

If the package is not there, it may be in the AUR (Arch User Repository) at 
https://aur.archlinux.org which only requires you to download a PKGBUILD file 
from there, and run "makepkg -si" on it. (the s option is to install any 
dependencies it needs, and i is to install the package after successful build 
-- so you don't have to run two separate commands).

Are you referring to something like.. if you try to unrar something and you 
don't have unrar installed, some distros will tell you that you need to install
 
unrar? Heh, I haven't ran into anything like that before. :)
