I moved to a place nearer to where I worked, 20+ miles away from Town. On my Heathkit Sixer there was one Ham I could chat with in the area. So I used CW and AM on HF most of the time. The installation I worked at was being shut down and I got transferred to a job in Town so moved back to Town to be closer to my new workplace. After getting back in Town I could talk to more Hams on the Sixer. I tell the people who I talk to about their computers that My Knowledge is just a little bit above the Kindergarten Level. .... .. I don't own a pc newer than Vista. I don't use it as frequently as I do the XP pc. I do turn on the Vista more often than I do the C=64 pc. As I mentioned to Mark, I'm too Cheap to pay if a Free product is offered. So I Update the Definitions Myself. I would still be using Windows 98 SE if My Brother hadn't asked me to go look at this HP XP MCE pc model and tell Him what I thought of it. I told Him that it looked good to me. I liked the specifications so much that I bought one of those HP XP MCE pc a few weeks later in 2006. I thought it would be O.K. in 2006 to start using a "Modern" computer since lots of people in this Echo were having good experiences with their XP pc's. The Price of the HP pc was reasonable for me to buy, it was a lot cheaper that what I paid to have the DOS 5.0 486DX33 pc built for me back in 1994. Iirc XP computers started selling about 2001 (???) ..--.. Since I got the most recent Version of Malwarebytes, I noticed that it will grab a Definition Update automatically when I turn the power On and begin to use the pc each day. EV> I try not to be stupid, just careful. SD> That tagline wasn't chosen by me, I promise. I wouldn't have minded if You had chose it. If I don't like the Tagline MM picks out I look through the list for another one to put in the messages that I write. I have MM set to select a Random Tagline, but "I" decide which one goes with a message. 73 de Ed W9ODR . . ....
