Subj : The Patriquin Utilities - conversion To : Marc Lewis From : Bob Jones Date : Thu Jan 23 2003 02:49 pm ML> For years I had run my BBS under DOS/DESQview, depending heavily on some ML> utilities like Norm Patriquin's PCopy and PDelete (sort ML> of like a SysOp's "Swiss Army knife"). After ML> converting to OS/2-CP2 I kept some of my main batch ML> files (after some adjustments) to run in VDMs. It has ML> recently come to mind that I actually have the full ML> source code for all the Patriquin utilities. I was ML> wondering if it would be practical to consider doing a ML> recompilation to run as a native 16bit OS/2 ML> application? I am not a programmer, but I think these ML> are written in C or C++. If you have C source code, you might want to try installing the Open Watcom 1.0beta compiler and see if things will just compile for you.... If so, you may have OS/2 native versions, or possibly even dual mode OS/2 and DOS versions, depending on how you set things up.... Take care.....
