A registered copy of SIO allows you to use it's vmodem. Basically, you set up the sio lines in config.sys to say which com ports are internet fed using vmodem, then fire up vmodem, and then fire up your bbs nodes using those com ports. The only requirement for vmodem to work is to have an existing tcp/ip signal, so before firing up vmodem, you must already be on the internet. How you are connected to the inet doesn't matter, just that you are. Cheers...
