this is smelling like possibly an off-by-one bug or similar... when the event 
records gets adjusted to show it has run, the rewrite writes to the wrong 
record... that's just an eWAG, though...

curious that no one else is reporting it here in fidonet but that could be 
because they're all reporting it on another FTN... if they're even noticing it 
at all...
