I had a node running Internet Rex try and connect to my Mystic hub. We couldn't get to the bottom of it, even with the help of another IRex sysop, who has a working link with a Mystic hub, and gave us the correct settings for both ends. In the end, the IRex sysop gave up and we used QWK networking instead for his feed. Never did find out why we were unable to authenticate. ....
