The PITA part isn't the fault of Mystic. I have installed Mystic about a dozen 
times and it's about a 10-15 minute job if one knows what to expect.

Umm... That should really be a given thing with Linux. During an install I 
routinely check all executables for the required ownership and permissions.

That begs the question of what Linux distro  you are running? As the only key I 
have ever had to remap was the F1 key. The F2 key has always been available for 
the Mystic installer to use.

Look at the keyboard mapping that your Linux uses for the F2 key.
