Whats yer point?  First time I wrote my test, I too had to do that.  Lack of CW 
ability  forced me to try and try again.  Still dont have CW, but am going to 
try for at least the 5 wpm test again.  Never had a problem with the written 
test.  Just because it is multiple choice does not make it any easier.  Granted 
if the test is published then somebody could conceiveably memorize the 
sequence, but here in Canada, they have sample questions, and you have no idea 
what questions will be on a given test.

I agree with the rest of your post regards your hard work, and loss of 
recognition
