IIRC the Wouff-Hong was made from two sticks, 1 long and 1 short, fastened 
together by wrapping a rag around them, and was used by The Old Man (T.O.M.) to 
torture LIDS (Poor Operators).

No, I wasn't around when the original articles were written in QST! I'm just 
trying to recall what I read a L-O-N-G time ago about Amateur Radios' early 
days.

Was the Uggerumph and Rettysnitch just other names for the Wouff-Hong?

I've always tried to be a good LID.
