Subj : My gear To : All From : Rob Swindell Date : Thu Nov 09 2017 07:42 pm I'm not really a guitarist (drummer by trade and my second place instrument is probably piano/keyboards)... however... I have a Squire 20th anniversary P-Bass I picked up for $80 on craiglist. It's my first bass, but immediately replaced the strings and did my own setup and intonation. It's been a great player. My daughter started bass this year in middle school jazz band (also drum set, her preference), so I picked her up a used Squire Bronco (short scale) for $100. It's okay. Much better after I replaced the strings and set it up. Thy're $150 brand new at GC, but this one was basically brand new. There are much better short scales (e.g. Mustang), but this was a good starter bass. I also have an SX strat ($100), which really gets rarely played. But I figured for $100, it'd be nice to have a guitar around for when friends (righties at least) visit and want to jam. The real find this summer was a Peavey TKO 160, for $120. They just don't make electronics like this anymore. Thing is like 30 years old and sounds great, bass and guitar. Anyway, add the assortment of pedals that I hardly use, outboard gear and mixers and mics and you get the picture: I'm a drummer. :-) digital man Synchronet "Real Fact" #75: Rob's alias "digital man" was inspired by a song on Rush's 1982 "Signals" album.
