Subj : Hello To : All From : Jim Haight Date : Mon Mar 19 2012 05:50 pm Hello folks. I am new to this forum but not new to guitar. I have been reading the "threads" and thought I would share some reviews. I have played quite a few acoustics lately in the search for the most guitar for the buck. Kind of like getting a fantastic bottle of wine for under ten dollars. I do have a friend in Baltimore who has a small guitar shop and he has an interesting variety of boxes to sell. His high end guitars are Larravie (sp?) which I absolutely love but need to save up for. He has a line of Hohners which I was impressed with as he gave me this nice gem of a dreadnought to play. I don't remember the model but it was black and, get this, all ebony. Ebony back, sides and top. It was under $400.00 and stunning. It had light gauge strings on it and crispy highs and loud bass with a great balance between. I do think it could tolerate heavier gauge strings for the double pickers. I think he said it was made in Korea but I am not sure. Other than this, he had a Simon and Patrick 12 string that was under $400.00 that was also delightful. Another bargain that I am seriously considering is a Luna Trinity parlor guitar. It is also just under $400.00 and it has a cutaway with electronics. Musician's Friend has these and I want something of that size. The soundhole is an interesting shape with three leaves with abalone inlay. You should Google it and take a look. Oh well, so many guitars, so little time ;) Jim Haight --- Virtual Advanced Ver 2 for DOS * Origin: AT2k Design BBS - bbs.at2k.org - Clarksville, TN (1:116/80) .
