that depends on how your GED is loading the areas list...

on my point, i use HPT so i have GED loading my HPT config via

  AREAFILE Fidoconfig

then i make sure that config has the details desired... in my case, that means that i ensure i have

  -d "description here"

for each area in my config file... i can put anything in that quoted field... i prefer the actual area TAGs but do also include the description of the area...
