This message area is the local "General" sub-board for Vertrauen BBS. The first "here" link on that wiki page takes you to the DOVE-Net "Synchronet Discussion" message area (a different message area dedicated for discussing Synchronet BBS software).

Yes, the system password is stored in ctrl/main.cnf (or ctrl/main.ini in v3.20) and visible/editable by running SCFG and looking under "System".
