WRT gated netmail, it turns out that the Fido2telebot bot waited a little while until you figured out that you needed to open a chat with it. That seems to be only slightly inconvenient. But if both parties have Telegram accounts, there is not much point in gating netmail. However, if a Fido-only user were to want to reach a telegram- only user, then they would have at least one public message in the echo to give the Telegram recipient a heads up. WRT groups, the private type (invitation only) on Telegram is best for gating purposes. Sysops wouldn't want an influx of anonymous posts. Personally, I am liking this outreach thru Telegram. Even the portable desktop version of Telegram is handy to take along for use on any pc and still get a modest sense of messages pouring in - and not have to worry about installing full fido software or configuring nntp just to poke around a few echos. -- ../|ug --- OpenXP 5.0.45 * Origin: The future is not what it used to be.
