Suffice to say that I made sure that my BBS takes in SD> -all- mail now and lets me decide to what to do with it. MBSE (by default) only tosses inbound mail from secure sessions. It is then the sysop's responsibility to check the unsecured inbound regularly and act on any mail received. The issue with Mystic is that it will (by default) not allow incoming sessions from nodes that do not have a session password configured.
