Most of the non-techie people I know who have issues with social media are re-evaluating because (1) they spend too much time on it, and are giving it up, which means they really are not looking to replace it, or because (2) they feel like social media has some sort of bias towards their beliefs. I guess that second group might be a potential target but, not being techie, as you have suggested I think they would lose interest in something that didn't have a phone app and didn't allow them share their beliefs with a larger group. Most other people I know who are really into social media are not re-evaluating. Aside from being able to argue politics or air opinions on some of the BBS networks, whatever else draws them to social media really does not exist, unless we want to set our boards up to include media sharing (like tic-tok, instagram, or youtube) or some opportunity for them to make money (like onlyfans or patreon). Honestly, I feel like most people who are really into social media are not into it just for the communication, beyond using communication to draw attention to themselves. I am sure there are a few who maybe remember using a BBS in the day, or that have some tech inclination that might be interested, but I just don't see most social media users taking an interest in BBSing. The gratification is not instant enough. .... Her voice rings in his ears like the music of the spheres --- MultiMail * Origin: Possum Lodge South * possumso.fsxnet.nz:7636/SSH:2122 (21:4/134) .
