If I remember right net 2 was there almost from the start. fsxNet grew fairly quickly and soon a few more message areas were added and then a few file areas. More nets were added to get the job done. I had to take a hiatus from BBSing because I was working out of town for a short time and when I came back net 4 was just starting up and I was assigned a node in net 4 when I came back on the scene. Dan ran a great net/hub, his departure is a bit of a loss for fsxNet but I understand it's not always easy to find time for hobbies. Dan also wrote many mods for Mystic. > My understanding is there's a hub for each net, and those within the net > receive echomail and files from their net's hub. Are some hubs offering > different connection methods? Are there other differences? Binkd is the main protocol used these days but ftp or even EMSI with a modem (if you have one). Some mailers do EMSI over telnet. Mine does but these are few and far between. I think net 3 might have such a thing. Net 3 is using a home grown tosser/mailer. It's bleeding edge. It's probably not needed in fsxNet but you could connect at another net, hub or node if you wanted/needed to do that. I am connected at net 1, 3 and 4 for example. I forget now why I did that but that is the way things have come together. > Thanks again for keeping this great network running smoothly! I think Avon will give a better, more complete answer but that's how I remeber it. --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Toy-6 * Origin: The Rusty MailBox - Penticton, BC Canada (21:4/106) .
