You can most definitely do that, but you can't do it while using msgs.ini. You would have to include a goldareas-sync.txt instead that defines each area manually. Then you can use the areasep keyword.

When you access your Synchronet message areas, you don't need to include a tearline and origin line, since sbbsecho appends that for you. Mystic does not do this, so you would need to use the "GROUP" keyword and set all of your Mystic areas to use a tearline and origin line - while NOT using those settings for your Synchronet message areas.

Your goldedareas.txt can define a group keyword for each message area with the "-g <group>" option added to each of those lines that define your message areas. I'm just not sure Mystic knows how to do that if/when it creates that file for you. So you would have to do it manually.
