For outbound e-mail (Mystic sending out the e-mail validations), I don't think the SMTP server of Mystic is needed -- although I haven't tried turning it off. I believe the SMTP and POP servers are only needed if you want to accept incoming connections (i.e. users sending/fetching mail using an e-mail client). Speaking of which -- they only offer access to the "e-mail" message base (local private messages), so perhaps not frequently used by most users. :) pa> I'm wondering if on the smtp.service that I'm using - is it pointed to pa> my old IP? (I also moved.) Hmmmmm... I dunno if SMTP is setup that way, The best thing to do is probably to vacuum the node logs for any clues when it tries to send the validation e-mail. Hopefully, you'll see the SMTP "session" there between Mystic and your e-mail provider.
