Hi

I've reverted (mostly) the fix to squish control lines, and have made
changed it back to NOT have carriage returns in it.

Sorry if you updated to v0.50 and entered messages, your bases are
probably no longer compatible with external utilities.

v0.51 will still work with v0.50 bases, and earlier versions.

Oh well.
